FROM OUR PASTOR
Since 1886, Lorena United Methodist Church has been serving the town of Lorena and the surrounding areas. We are a purposeful, authentic and loving community of faith which shares the gospel of Jesus Christ through word and action. Our congregation is large enough to include a variety of faithful perspectives, while intimate enough that everyone will know your name after the first visit.
When you are our guest, either on Sunday mornings or during one of our programs, you will feel welcome, wanted and accepted for your uniqueness and significance as a member of the body of Christ. We have a wide range of generations present in worship.
Folks from the city, county, and college all have found a place in our community. Whether you are a life-long Christian, a seeker, or something in between, everyone is welcome through our doors. We’ve got a spot on the pew waiting on you.
Lorena UMC is the only congregation in our area who uniquely, offers spirit-filled blended worship set in a vintage, 1880’s sanctuary. We are not your typical “big box” one-size-fits-all church. Both of our two Sunday morning services include an uplifting blend of contemporary music combined with timeless Methodist hymns and traditional worship elements. We offer the Lord’s Supper the first Sunday of each month and you are welcome to join us at the table.
Come and see what a warm welcome and Christian community feels like. If you’re coming from Waco, a short, 15-minute drive down I-35 will remind you of a simpler time, a renewing worship, and the experience of the Holy Spirit that will strengthen you for the week ahead.
If you have any questions or just want to discuss your own faith journey I would love to meet and talk further.
